Thermostat Replacement

Model: Lexus IS MK 3 - Years 2013-2024
Part: Thermostat

The thermostat regulates the exchange of hot engine coolant with cooler coolant from the radiator: at intervals determined by the temperature of the fluids, this valve opens and closes cyclically. Due to deposits, it can become stuck and cause engine overheating; to replace it, remove the plastic covers on the engine and the scuttle panel; drain the coolant from the designated drain plug under the radiator, remove the auxiliary belt and the pulley located right in front of the thermostat housing; replace the old thermostat with the new one, reattach the auxiliary belt, the plastic covers, and refill the cooling system with the appropriate coolant.
