Lml recommends changing the spark plug every 7,500 miles (but it often needs changing sooner) and checking it for safety every 1,875 miles. If you notice the engine struggles to start, it is likely due to the spark plug. Remove the cap and its rubber boot. Using the appropriate socket wrench, unscrew the spark plug. Check for excessive deposits and clean it with a wire brush until it is truly clean. Use fine sandpaper to further clean it. With a feeler gauge, check that the gap from the electrode is 0.7 to 0.8 mm. Reassemble everything.
