Mazda 3 - Video tutorial

Model: Mazda 3 BL, MK 2 - Years 2009-2013
Part: Cabin air filter
Operation: Cabin air filter replacement

The passenger compartment air filter (actually there are two) is located behind the central tunnel and it is necessary to remove the glove box on the passenger side in order to access it. The first operation to carry out is to remove the central molding of the dashboard: simply open the door of the glovebox and pull the molding with your hands to release it. At this point unscrew the two fixing screws of the glovebox and pull it to release it and extract it from its seat; then disconnect the bulb holder together with the power socket. Unhook and remove the plastic cover panel of the fuse holder keyboard: there are two side tabs to press. Remove the triangular-shaped plastic cap located on the side of the central tunnel, near the mat, by pulling the pressure catch in the center. Then turn the two fixing screws of the fuse holder keyboard, lower it and unhook the sockets connected to it; at this point unscrew the rear fixing screws of the keyboard (we suggest using a flexible screwdriver) and move it sideways so as to be able to remove the cabin air filters. At the end of the central tunnel it is possible to see the cap of the cabin air filter container which is fixed with two screws that must be removed. Once the cap has been removed, the two filters can be removed. Then clean the filter container and insert the two new filters (one on top of the other) respecting the direction of the air flow. Then reassemble what was previously removed.
