How to Reprogram the Ignition Key

Model: Mazda 3 BK, MK 1 - Years 2003-2009

This tutorial explains the procedure for programming a spare key for a Mazda Speed 3. Insert one of the pre-programmed transponder keys and turn the ignition to the 'On' position; leave it for at least one second (wait until the red key symbol on the dashboard goes out). Now remove the key from the ignition. Wait a few seconds and insert the second pre-programmed key, turning the ignition to 'On' for at least one second, but no more than 5 seconds (use the key symbol for this as well), then remove the second key. Within 10 seconds, insert the new ignition key and turn the ignition to 'On' again. This will reprogram the second key.
