Front Shock Absorber Replacement

Model: Mazda 3 MK 1, BK - Years 2003-2009

To replace the front shock absorbers, first obtain the appropriate clamps to compress the spring and then remove the support from the shaft; start by lifting the vehicle to remove the front wheel, disconnect the grommets and unscrew the mounting bolts of the shock absorber from the hub support; lower the vehicle to access the engine bay and unscrew the nuts securing the shock absorber support from the body strut and complete the disassembly; then apply the clamps to the spring to compress it and remove the support from the shaft complete with bellows and the shock absorber itself; finally, insert the spring and support onto the new shock absorber and then reverse the process for installation on the vehicle.
