How to replace the roof lining of the Mercedes S-Class

Model: Mercedes Classe S MK 4, W220 - Years 1999-2005

Today we will explain how to replace the roof lining of the Mercedes S-Class by yourself. We open the front doors of the car and lower the front and rear windows. We remove the roof seal and airbag covers along with the nuts. We remove the rear and front side panels by pressing on the levers. We insert a 5.5mm sheet to remove the control unit panel. We disconnect the unit connector and carefully store the piece. We remove the interior rearview mirror. We remove the safety belt bases using a flat tip screwdriver and needle-nose pliers. We loosen the edges and release the roof by pulling downward. The assembly follows the reverse process.
