How to set the emergency driving mode of the transmission on the Mercedes Actros.

If the gear selector of the Mercedes Actros is not functioning properly, it is possible to use the emergency driving mode of the transmission. The truck must be stationary, with the parking brake engaged and the ignition on. From the driver's seat, use the menu controls on the steering wheel or the lever to scroll through the screens of the central display on the dashboard until reaching the vehicle menu, where an icon of a gear appears. Entering this menu, select the "Emergency Driving Mode" option and confirm with the OK button. The display will show the question "Is the parking brake engaged?": after verifying that the parking brake is indeed applied, confirm with "Yes." The system then activates emergency mode, and the central panel displays a list of gears that can be manually engaged, such as Reverse (R), Neutral (N), Forward Gear 1 (D1), Forward Gear 2 (D2). Use the scrolling buttons to highlight the desired gear and confirm with OK. In this way, the Mercedes Actros transmission is controlled in emergency mode directly from the instrument panel, allowing the vehicle to be moved or secured even in the event of a failure of the main transmission control.
