Euro NCAP Crash Test Results for the Mercedes C-Class W203 (2000-2007)

Model: Mercedes Classe C W203 - Years 2000-2007
Part: Checks and maintenance

Let's look at the test conducted by the Mercedes C-Class W203 in 2002, which was considered excellent for its time. The occupant protection rating was 4 out of 5, which was a very good result for that period. In fact, 5 stars were somewhat of a chimera for cars of that era. It showed a cabin that was resilient in both frontal and side impacts. The child protection was average for the time, but with some issues, as the passenger airbag could not be deactivated to install a rear-facing child seat: a flaw that significantly affected the score. However, the weak point of the vehicle was pedestrian protection (like most cars of that time, where the construction philosophy imposed rigid bumpers and hoods, with little or no attention to pedestrian impact). Overall, the result for 2002 was excellent and was in line with the competition, including BMW and Audi.
