Checking and Topping Up Engine Oil on Mercedes B-Class

Model: Mercedes Classe B W245, MK 1 - Years 2005-2011

Open the bonnet and place the support rod in position. To check the engine oil level, pull out the dipstick with the red ring cap. Wipe the dipstick with a paper towel, reinsert it, and pull it out again: check the mark at the bottom of the dipstick and see where the oil level reaches. If it reaches halfway up the measuring mark, the level is correct; if it is lower, top up without exceeding this level. To top up, unscrew the cap on your left (facing the cabin) and add a few centilitres of 5W-40 synthetic oil, then check again using the dipstick.
