How to Change the Engine Oil and Filter in a Mercedes B-Class

To replace the engine oil and filter in a Mercedes B-Class, it is advisable to bring the engine to operating temperature, then turn it off and safely lift the vehicle. After unscrewing the oil filler cap, remove the drain plug from the sump and allow the used lubricant to drain completely into a suitable container. Meanwhile, locate the oil filter housing in the engine bay, unscrew the cover with the appropriate tool, and replace the filter cartridge and the sealing O-ring. Once the draining is complete, refit the sump plug, preferably with a new gasket, and close the filter. Finally, fill the engine with the specified oil, start the engine for a few seconds, check for leaks, and verify the oil level, topping up if necessary.
