Building a headrest cover for your Mercedes C-Class is not easy, but it is possible. Good manual skills are essential, and you might need help from someone who can sew. Start by removing the headrest from its housing: it is easy because it is a bayonet fitting. The next step is to create a plastic template - which is more flexible - for each part of the headrest. Once done, choose your material: fabric, velvet, faux leather, whatever you prefer. The important thing is to also have a felt or foam underlay of low thickness for the lining. Place your templates on the chosen material, leaving a small extra margin for sewing. Now, on the reverse side of the material, apply plenty of glue, and lay it on the foam that you will cut to match the coverings. You will need the help of someone who knows how to use a sewing machine: all the various pieces need to be assembled by sewing them together. In the video, they also make topstitching, but it is clear that these are people who do this regularly. However, if your collaborator feels up to it, you can try. Once you have assembled the entire headrest, sew a stretch ribbon to the ends to allow the edges of the headrest to adhere to its interior. Now, place the new cover back on the headrest; it will fit with some difficulty, but that is its purpose. Your work is finished.
