Replacing the Multimedia Unit

Changing the multimedia unit of a modern car is not one of the simplest tasks you can imagine; that is, it is not just a matter of pulling out the old radio and inserting the new one. The only consolation: it becomes more difficult for wrongdoers and makes car radios less appealing on the black market. Anyway, if you have a Mercedes C-Class and really want to use DIY to change the multimedia unit, this tutorial explains the most important steps, from removing the aesthetic parts of the center console, to disassembling the air vents, to removing the radio trim and extracting the unit itself. Naturally, you need to be very careful with the wiring, especially not to accidentally disconnect the airbag cables!
