How to reset the service on the Mercedes SLK R170?

The procedure to reset the service on the Mercedes SLK R170 is divided into two phases, each lasting about 10 seconds. During the first phase, turn the ignition to the ON position, press the trip meter button located to the left of the speedometer twice in quick succession, and then turn the ignition OFF. At this point, the second phase begins, which involves holding down the previously mentioned button, turning the key to the ON position, and waiting for 10 seconds (and the audible signal) before releasing the button and turning the key back to OFF.
