How to Replace the Timing Chain on a Mercedes A-Class

To replace the timing chain on a Mercedes A-Class, open the hood to access the engine compartment. Remove any obstructing parts located at the front of the engine to take off the front cover. Once the cover is removed, you can access the pulleys and the tensioner: remove the tensioner first by loosening its mounting bolts. After removing the tensioner, you can also loosen the nuts that secure the central pins of the sprockets, allowing you to remove and replace the chain with a new one.
