In this video, you will see how to remove the tailgate hook on a Mercedes C-Class W203. To access the hook, you need to remove the aluminum plate located on the tailgate. Unscrew the screws near the hook and those securing the plate at both ends. The plate is also held by six metal clips on the inside, which can be difficult to remove: use two flathead screwdrivers to pry them off. The next clip is about six inches further along, and you will need to repeat this process five more times. This will give you access to the hook, which is secured to the frame by two torx screws.
