How do you remove the air fan resistor? Follow these steps to remove the resistor on a Mini Cooper. Remove the plastic cover under the centre tunnel near the pedals, using a screwdriver to unscrew the cover (if there are screws on your model). Unlock the large connector of the resistor, then pull it out from the cabin. Insert a new fan resistor (connect the power connector). Finally, refit the cover. Check the correct installation of the previously fitted parts, then turn on the instrument panel and activate the air fan.
