In this video tutorial, you will learn how to dismantle and replace the remote key battery on the Mini Cooper, models R50, R52, and R53. First, take your remote and gently pry open the sides at the bottom to split the remote into two parts; once the cover is removed, you can take out the battery as shown in the video.

At this point, remove and replace the battery with a new one of the correct type (in this case, a CR 2032 3V), ensuring it is inserted the right way; then reassemble the remote!
