Replacing Key Battery for Mini Cooper

Model: Mini Mini R56, R55, R57 - Years 2007-2014

Today, you will learn a simple yet essential maintenance task: changing the battery in a Mini Cooper F style key. Remove the manual ignition key from the casing. On this, detach the central upper part using a small flat screwdriver, as shown in the video. With the same small screwdriver, remove the last small plastic piece located above the battery (it requires a bit of force) and pull it out. Insert the new battery and proceed in reverse: first, clip the small battery cover back in, then the other plastic piece (these are just clipped in with plastic hooks) and reinsert the manual key. Check that everything works correctly.
