To replace the button cell inside the Mini Cooper key, follow a few simple steps. First, locate and press the button on the bottom of the cover to fully slide out the physical emergency key. Next, using a flat-head screwdriver, remove the back part of the cover and take off the protective cap of the battery. Once you have access to the exhausted battery, replace it with a new one, and finally reassemble the cover and insert the physical key back inside.
