How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Mini Cooper?

To replace the timing belt on the Mini, lift the car to loosen the bolts securing the front right wheel. Remove the wheel along with the corresponding wheel arch liner. Now, loosen the central nut of the tensioner roller, completely removing it to reduce the tension on the belt. You can now remove the belt from the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft pulleys. This will allow you to fit a new belt, refitting all previously removed components.
