How to replace the thermostat in the Mini Cooper S?

Model: Mini Mini R50, R52, R53 - Years 2001-2007
Part: Thermostat

In this tutorial, we can see how to replace the thermostat in the Mini Cooper S. Before doing so, we wait for the engine to completely cool down in order to operate safely. We start by removing the air filter box by removing the corresponding bolts, then we disconnect all the indicated connectors and remove the intake manifold sensor. Once the area is clear, we disconnect both thermostat hoses, unscrew the two fixing bolts with a 10mm wrench, and remove it from the engine wall. Finally, we install the replacement by following the reverse procedure and top up the amount of lost coolant during the operation.
