How to replace the battery of a Mini Cooper key?

To replace the battery of a Mini Cooper key, start by locating the small release button on the back of the key. Press this button to unlock and remove the mechanical blade of the key. With the key blade removed, you will notice a small slot or indentation. Use a small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key by levering on this slot. Once opened, locate the internal battery. Remove the old battery, making sure to note the orientation (positive and negative) in which it was inserted. Insert the new battery in the same orientation. Put the two halves of the key back together, making sure they snap securely into place. Finally, reinsert the mechanical blade of the key. Test the key to ensure it functions properly with the new battery installed.
