Let's see how to reset the service light on a Mitsubishi Colt Z30: turn on the ignition and repeatedly press the trip meter button (located on the dashboard near the display) until the total odometer (ODO) is displayed, not the trip meter. Now turn the key to the "off" position.

Press and hold the trip meter button, and while holding it, turn the key to the "ON" position (without starting the engine). The display will first show "-----" (or a countdown), or the word "service" flashing, depending on the version.

After a few seconds, the word "CLEAR" will appear, and the light will turn off. At this point, you can release the button. Turn off the ignition and turn it back on to verify that the light has disappeared.
