To adjust the valves on the Moto Guzzi California 1400, first bring the piston to the top dead centre position. To do this, remove the cap from which you can see the flywheel of the crankshaft: use a specific tool to rotate the crankshaft until it reaches the position indicated by the mark. Obtain feeler gauges of 0.15 mm for the exhaust valve and 0.10 mm for the intake valve. Tighten or loosen the locknut until the appropriate feeler gauge fits snugly within the valve without any play.
