An old headlamp has a glass lens, a double reflector (for main and dipped beam) plus a smaller one for the position lights. The main issue with this headlamp is that the glass has been poorly fixed with silicone to the plastic structure. You can resolve this by applying insulating tape to the joint. Another problem is the mounting screws to the bracket, which have too much play and can move. In this case, apply silicone to secure the screw holes. If you remove the rubber of the adapter, remember to centre it perfectly; otherwise, the headlamp will not close.
