How to Replace the Tailgate Strut on a Nissan Pathfinder

How do you remove the tailgate struts? Follow these steps to dismantle the damaged parts and install the new ones. Lift the tailgate and secure it. Using a screwdriver, remove the retaining clips on the strut at the tailgate side. Disconnect the struts from the other side. Remove the worn strut and fit the new piece into the two mounts. Secure the strut with the metal clips. Repeat the same process for the removal and installation of the strut on the opposite side. Close and open the tailgate to test its operation.
