How to read and clear the INSP codes on Vauxhall and Opel.

Model: Vauxhall Opel Various
Part: Instrument cluster

Video tutorial

When the message INSP1, INSP2, or INSP3 appears on the instrument panel of an Opel or Vauxhall, what does it mean? It indicates that an inspection or service is approaching, and each one has its own meaning. For example, INSP3 indicates that the remote control battery is running low, and we will see how to change it: simply pry between the two halves of the remote control and separate them, revealing the button battery inside, which is a common CR2032, easily found at any supermarket.

Remove it by prying it out with a small screwdriver, and replace it with a new one, making sure to respect the polarity. Once the battery has been replaced, the error code will be automatically cleared.
