How to remove the hard top of an Opel Frontera B

This is a procedure that is best done by two people: we remove everything from the cabin and disconnect the battery. Some hardtops have rear side windows that can be opened; these are the first things to remove. Then we unscrew the hinges and locking mechanisms from the inside. If there is an electrical connection, it is located in the rear hinge or at the front of the roof, near the driver's door; we disconnect the electrical connector for the third brake light, remove the side mounting bolts, at the top of the cargo area, and at the front, just above the windshield, where it is attached to the frame. With the help of our assistant, we ensure that all bolts have been removed and decide on a safe place to set it down securely. The roof should be lifted firmly, as the seals may be "stuck," but also gently to avoid damaging them. At the time of reassembly, they must be thoroughly cleaned and greased to maintain the seal.
