How to install the tow hook on the Opel Crossland X.

Today we will explain how to install the tow bar on the Opel Crossland X. The tow bar set includes the towing device and the corresponding electronic system. The detachable ball mount fixed at the rear, once inserted into the receiver, locks into place via the lever system. The maximum towing capacity is 840 kilograms, which corresponds to a value of 5.66 kilonewtons. The supply includes a 13-pin connector with a power socket. The external support can be disassembled and folded inward whenever the tow bar is not in use.

To carry out the installation, we need to bring the main beam of the tow bar under the rear of the car and align the frame holes with those of the tow bar. We use the bolts from the kit to secure the mounting brackets to the body. We insert the tow ball into the designated position, ensuring that it clicks and locks into place.

To be able to tow a trailer, we must connect the wiring harness to the vehicle's original connectors, performing an electrical coding on the onboard computer for towing recognition. It may be necessary to use an external computer and the OBD socket. After making the electrical connections, we tighten all the bolts to the specified torque, as stated in the manual. We check the tightness of the bolts after driving the first 0 - 1000 km.
