After gaining access to the mechanism, tighten the nut on the lever using a torque wrench. Adjust the handbrake and periodically test its firmness. Once you reach the desired level, reinstall the protective cover of the mechanism and finally test the handbrake's functionality by starting the vehicle's engine. If the handbrake warning light comes on, it will be necessary to visit a workshop.
