How to Change the Battery and Shell of an Opel/Chevrolet Key

Let's see how to change the shell and replace the battery of an Opel/Chevrolet key: open the cover by locating the notch on the side where the logo is, pressing with a small flat screwdriver and levering outwards. Remove the CR2032 battery. If you are only replacing the battery, place the new one in (available at supermarkets) ensuring the correct polarity, then close the cover, and that's it. If you want to change the shell, you need to disassemble the key, gently separate the two halves of the remote and rotate the spring of the retractable blade counter-clockwise to maintain tension. Insert it into the new shell and check that it opens by pressing the button. Place the electronic board back in, then join the two halves and tighten the Torx screw.
