A maintenance task that is often overlooked but is very useful and effective is the cleaning and lubrication of door hinges and struts. Once the door is fully opened, clean the strut of any dirt residues and apply spray grease.

Then, lubricate the hinges by removing the protective rubber and applying grease inside the hinge pin; reposition the rubber afterwards. Repeat the procedure on the other doors: this way, you will avoid squeaks and noises from the hinges and struts, and they will be better preserved over time.
