How to Replace Brake Pads and Discs

Model: Vauxhall Corsa Corsa D - Years 2006-2014
Part: Brake pads

The video immediately shows us the tools we will use; with needle-nose pliers, remove the dust caps. Once the car is lifted, remove the wheel, proceed to unscrew the outer bolts holding the disc to the hub, and turn the steering wheel to the opposite side of where you are working. Position yourself behind the brake caliper, insert a flathead screwdriver between the disc and the outer pad through the opening, and apply force outward until a gap forms between the inner pad and piston, then gradually push the piston back towards the car frame; when you have enough space, use a spanner to fully retract the piston into its housing. Now unscrew the bolts indicated in the video and remove the caliper. At this point, unscrew the bolts securing the brake disc to the hub, remove the worn pads and their clips, and extract the old disc. Fit the new disc, ensuring it is well seated and all holes are aligned, then screw the outer bolts back in followed by the inner ones, and fit the new clips for the pads. You can then insert the new pads into their housing, refit the caliper, and screw the corresponding bolts back in.
