If, during the opening and closing of the roof, one of the device elements tends to jam, it is likely that the plastic gear controlling the movement via a motor-driven worm screw has been damaged. You can remedy this by purchasing a rebuilt gear in bronze or brass from the aftermarket. It will be necessary to remove the complete motor; once on the bench, remove the plastic cover to access the gear housing, extract the old gear, eliminate any plastic debris, and install the new one with some grease. After reassembly, check the operation by activating the worm screw with a screwdriver.
