How to change the front brake pads of the Peugeot 207

Let's see how to change the front brake pads of the Peugeot 207: open the hood and the brake fluid reservoir (this will facilitate the retraction of the caliper pistons). With the car still on the ground, loosen the nuts on the front wheels and then lift the car and place it on two jack stands, then remove the wheels. Turn the brake disc to have better access to the caliper; lever with a flat screwdriver between the old pad and the disc, to retract the caliper piston; this creates the necessary space for the new, thicker pads. Remove the lower pin of the caliper, then lift it and remove the old pad. Clean the seat with a wire brush, apply a thin layer of copper grease on the back of the new pad (not on the friction surface, be careful!), then put the pad back in place. Reposition the caliper and tighten the lower pin. Repeat everything on the other side, mount the wheels, close the brake fluid cap, lower the car and press the brake pedal several times, in order to bring the pads closer to the disc and restore pressure in the system.
