The Problem with the Peugeot 5008 Boot Not Opening is Due to Wiring

If the boot of your Peugeot 5008 won't open, the culprit could be a simple broken wire in the harness connecting the tailgate to the body. This issue is common in many vehicles with this type of body (hatchback), as the wires bend and fray with repeated opening and closing. To diagnose it, open the internal lining of the tailgate and inspect the wiring harness in the hinge area. Look for any breaks or frayed wires. In the video, a broken wire was found and temporarily repaired by twisting the two ends together, restoring functionality. The permanent repair involves soldering or joining with a connector, then insulating with heat-shrink tubing. If you have other electrical issues, check the same wiring harness.
