Oil Change and Service Reset on a Peugeot 308

For the oil change and service reset on a Peugeot 308, proceed as follows. Oil change: lift the car and open the bonnet. Remove the filler cap and dipstick. Under the engine, locate the drain plug (17-19 mm spanner depending on the engine) and unscrew it, allowing the oil to drain into a container (preferably with the engine warm). Unscrew the oil filter (cartridge or screw type, depending on the engine): if it is cartridge, open the cover with a 27-32 mm socket and replace the filter element and seals; if it is screw type, unscrew it with the appropriate spanner. Lubricate the seal of the new filter with clean oil. Refit the filter and the drain plug (with a new washer). Pour in approximately 4-4.5 litres of oil (check the manual for the exact quantity and type: 0W-30 or 5W-30 for HDi diesels). Check the level with the dipstick and top up if necessary. Service reset: with the ignition on, press the "000" button until the spanner icon appears. Hold the button for a few seconds: the display shows "Service reset" or the counter resets to 20,000 miles. Alternatively, on newer models, use the touchscreen menu.
