Replacing the Timing Chain on a Peugeot 207

Generally, timing chains are not scheduled for replacement, but they can stretch to the point where the tensioner can no longer compensate for the elongation, causing the typical noise from the chain hitting the sliding pads; it is recommended to consult a specialist for this maintenance as timing alignment requires particular expertise; you will need to remove the engine air filter box, the plastic cover, the spark plug leads, and the spark plugs themselves to access the rocker cover; then position the car on suitable axle stands to remove the front right wheel and apply support under the engine as the engine side mount will also need to be removed; once the auxiliary belt and crankshaft pulley are taken off, align the timing marks and complete the removal of the cover and chain. Pay careful attention during the installation of the new kit and the timing of the system.
