To replace the transmission on the Piaggio MP3 500, loosen the bolts securing the cover located on the left side of the scooter, near the rear wheel. Once the bolts are loosened, you can open the cover to access the components underneath. This allows you to loosen the central nuts securing the variator and the clutch bell. Both components can be removed from their housing, along with the belt. Finally, replace all removed components by reinstalling the cover.
