How to replace the front discs and pads of the Renault Captur

Today we will explain how to replace the front discs and pads of the Renault Captur mk1 on your own. First, open the front hood and the brake fluid reservoir; to change the discs and pads, you will need to lift the front part of the car. Remove the wheels to access the discs and wheel bolts better; lift the car and support it on jack stands. Turn the disc outwards and insert a flat screwdriver into the ends of the slot, in front of the caliper, to lever and retract the piston. Use a 13mm wrench to unlock the upper screw of the caliper, and if necessary, you can use a hammer. Repeat the operation on the lower screw to lock the locknut and prevent the disc from rotating. Use a 15mm wrench to unscrew the lower screw of the caliper and use an electric cable and a piece of string to block the flexibility of the brake, making it easy to remove the suspensions. Remove the pads by sliding them out of the disc; use a flat screwdriver to remove the anti-noise springs and unlock the two fixing screws of the caliper cover with an 18mm wrench. Remove the cover using a 40mm Torx key and unscrew the two screws holding the disc. Clean the shaft with a wire brush and grease it with copper-based grease before inserting the disc. Screw the two screws and clean the pad support with a wire brush to make it easier to insert. Insert the support and tighten it with an 18mm wrench and a torque wrench. Install the new anti-noise pads and lock the disc support. Grease the new pads with copper grease and then insert them. Tighten with the calipers and screw the nuts with a thread key and a torque wrench. Mount the wheels and lower the vehicle. Close the front hood and drive 50km to stabilize the pads.
