How to temporarily deactivate the passenger airbag on the Renault Espace IV.

Let's see how to temporarily disable the passenger airbag (for example, if we need to install a rear-facing child seat) in the front seat. The vehicle must be turned off. The switch is located inside the passenger side glove compartment: it is a round button with the airbag symbol in yellow. Press the button and then turn it to the left: at this point, we will see an "OFF" icon on the button. Let's check the dashboard by turning the ignition on. The instrument panel should display the "airbag off" light or "passenger airbag deactivated." If a red error message appears or it is flashing, it means there is a fault in the system. To reactivate the airbag, remove the key, open the glove compartment, and press the button again, turning it to the right. The light on the dashboard should disappear.
