How to open the hood with the lever in the Renault Clio

To open the hood of the Renault Clio, enter from the driver's side and locate the release lever situated low, near the door latch area and the side trim of the footwell. Pull the lever firmly until it reaches the end of its travel: this will release the hood from the main latch and it will rest on the first safety catch. At this point, move to the front of the car. Insert your hand under the front edge of the hood, near the central area of the grille, and look for the safety latch. Activate it in the direction of release and simultaneously lift the hood upward, without jerking. Once opened, ensure that the hood remains securely in position using the support system provided (rod or other support, depending on the configuration), so you can work safely in the engine compartment. If the hood does not release after pulling the lever, try again with a full pull and check for any unusual tension on the cable; if the front latch feels stiff, avoid forcing it with tools and verify that you are acting on the correct lock lever.
