How to Change Oil and Filter on a Renault Kangoo II

Learn how to change the oil and filter on a Renault Kangoo II: Warm up the engine (hot oil drains better), lift the car on axle stands, unscrew the drain plug (under the sump, 13 or 16 mm socket depending on the model) and let it drain into a suitable container; dispose of the used oil along with the filter at an authorised centre. Refit the plug with a new gasket (torque: 25-30 Nm) and remove the oil filter, which is located on the front side of the engine; on the 1.5 dCi, the filter is in a cartridge housing, where you simply unscrew the cover, remove the old cartridge and gasket, clean the seat, insert the new cartridge and gasket (lubricated with oil) and screw it back on by hand. Add oil: 1.5 dCi: about 4.5 – 5.0 litres, then start the engine for 1 minute (to circulate the oil); turn off and wait 2 minutes, then check the dipstick (it should be between MIN and MAX).
