How do you remove the gear knob from your Renault Megane? Let's look at removing the piece and replacing it. Grasp the knob in your hands and twist it left and right until it comes off the gear stick. Disconnect the leather gaiter frame with a plastic lever (if necessary). To mount: Fit the new leather gaiter with the clips (if removed), then take the new knob and slide it onto the stick present on the centre tunnel, tightening the new knob until it is secure on the stick. Position the knob with the gear numbers facing you horizontally.
