How to Change the Handbrake on a Renault Megane Scenic

To replace the handbrake lever on a Renault Megane, first remove the glove compartment and the cover of the centre tunnel in the cabin. Lift the vehicle and remove the rear wheel on the driver's side, where you will free the handbrake cable, pushing it upwards as much as possible until it is completely removed from the top. Lightly lubricate the hole where the cable will pass through and insert the new one. Now reposition it in its housing until the end reaches the left rear wheel. Secure it well and grease where you introduced the cable. Repeat the same operation on the other wheel using the same procedure. Refit both cables in their housing on the central plate. Now you can reassemble the console and the glove compartment. The job is finished.
