Replacing rear shock absorber
Model: Renault Megane
Megane 2
- Years 2002-2010
Replacing the rear shock absorbers is very simple to execute since the damper and spring are not co-axial, so clamps do not need to be applied to compress the spring and separate the two elements; therefore, apply a support jack under the rear suspension before proceeding with the disassembly (it is not necessary to remove the rear wheel); access the boot and remove the carpet covering the load floor and the spare wheel: the fixing bolt of the shock absorber is not located on the wing but on the floor, near the spare wheel compartment; once this bolt is removed, access the hub area and unscrew the lower bolt by opening the protective plastic cover; you will then proceed in reverse for the installation of the new shock absorber.

To change the transmission oil, you need to remove the bolts using a socket spanner. (follow the video) Once the bolts are removed, let the fluid drain into a container. Prepare to refit all the bolts on the transmission with the socket spanner, then top up with the appropriate transmission fluid.
