Before starting, sit in the driver's seat of your Saab 9-3. Using a flathead screwdriver and leveraging, begin by unclipping and removing the upper cover of the gear knob. Next, repeat this step to remove the support of the cover.

This will expose the screw that secures the gear knob to the lever, which you need to unscrew and remove. At this point, you can unclip the gear knob, then pull it out and remove it, completing the disassembly.
