Replace the gear shift knob and boot on a SAAB 9.3

In this video we can see how to replace the gear shift boot and knob of a Saab 9.3. In order to remove the boot, it was necessary to also remove the metal plate, as the boot itself was very damaged. We found a leather boot and silver knob on E-Bay with the code 314493407764 for the price of 21.96 euros, including delivery costs. We need to remove the old damaged boot from the metal plate by applying pressure from the inside, then we will remove the gear shift lever without too much concern for the old boot, and also the trim piece that we will need to fit into the boot against the metal plate. We insert the boot onto the gear shift lever and close it with its clip (the YouTuber had to adapt it a little), then we staple the boot to the plastic trim piece and put it back inside the metal plate. We can then reinsert the metal plate into the console. Now we just need to put the knob on the gear shift lever, and the job is done.
