How to Replace the Gear Shift Surround on a SAAB 9-3?

Start the replacement process by detaching the old plastic gear shift surround. No special tools are needed; you can simply pull it off with your hands. Lift the gear knob and free the surround by unclipping the fasteners at both ends. Now that the old part is removed, replace it with the new one by inserting it onto the gear lever and attaching it to the gear knob. Finally, position the plastic surround at the base of the gear shift, applying pressure with your hands to ensure it clips in correctly.
