Replacement of the Complete Engine Gasket Kit

First, check with a feeler gauge and an aluminium bar for any tolerances on the seating surface of the cylinder head as shown in the images. Use the appropriate tool to compress the valve spring, remove the retainer, and extract both the spring and the valve. With the other tool, remove the stem seal. Replace the stem guides, lubricating them with a bit of oil before inserting them with the special tool. Likewise, apply a bit of oil to the stem and insert the valve. Refit the spring, compressing it and securing it with the retainer. Now position the intake manifold gasket and screw it to the head. Check for any tolerances on the engine block surface. Verify the correct thread pitch and clean the threads of the screws. Then clean the components of any debris. Insert the bushes into the screw holes. Now position the gasket and place the cylinder head on top. Prepare each screw with the appropriate thread sealant. Tighten the internal and external screws according to the technical specifications. Distribute a bit of oil in each valve seat and insert the caps. Apply the appropriate oil to the supports and screw them together with the camshafts. Referring to the markings, as shown in the images, fit the timing gears and the timing chain. Apply small amounts of sealant to the holes in front of the timing gears. Insert the central gasket and the outer gasket of the valve cover and reassemble it. Finally, position the gasket and reattach the exhaust manifold. Car model: SAAB 9-5 Turbo 16V
